It’s called a ‘custom declaration’, and it basically tells the customs official what kind of paperwork you need to fill out, so that you don’t have to worry about having your luggage inspected and inspected again.

If there’s an extra charge for shipping to your destination, it’s probably because of the customs processing fee, or the shipping cost.
This is usually the cheapest way to pay for your trip.
If your shipping cost exceeds $150, there’s usually an additional $50 fee.
If it’s cheaper to ship your items from overseas, you might want to consider paying for the extra processing time.

If the customs officer is very busy or is checking bags for goods, there might be an extra fee added to your package.
This could be as little as $2.75 or as much as $5.50 depending on the customs agent.
If customs officials are checking your luggage for contraband, they might be asking you to show them your passport, which you can then use to prove that you have the right to travel.
