The latest in the Amazon Prime shipping saga continues to be a bit of a wild ride.
Earlier today, we learned that a number of Amazon Prime members had been able to get free shipping on their Amazon purchases.
That included the popular Echo speaker, the Echo Dictator smart speaker, and, yes, even some Amazon Prime customers who have ordered from Amazon themselves.
Now, we know that some Amazon customers have been able also to get the same free shipping, albeit on an older model.
The new Kindle Fire HDX with a 10.1-inch screen and $179 price tag is one of the more interesting new Amazon Prime items.
Its price tag was raised to $199 in November, and it now sells for $179.99 with free shipping.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
We’re told that some of the new models will ship to U.S. and Canadian addresses, and some may ship to other international locations, too.
The Echo Dictionator will ship only to customers in the U.K., France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Other Echo products will ship internationally but not to Amazon customers.
As a reminder, Amazon Prime allows you to buy new and used products on Amazon.com and use the company’s credit card to pay for the products.
As of today, the company has around 1 million Prime members, but it’s unclear how many are still getting free shipping in the future.
Amazon’s new Prime shipping program is available to all Prime members in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other countries where Amazon is selling the items.
The new Prime members can also pay for Amazon Prime by using a credit card.
Amazon Prime customers in other countries will still have to pay an extra $25 to get shipping in those countries.
That extra charge will likely come in the form of a $10 per order or $10.50 per item fee.
Amazon says that if you’re still not sure what to do, Amazon is also offering the option to purchase a special “Prime Plus” membership with free Amazon Prime and shipping for a limited time.
Amazon’s special memberships cost $199 for a three-year membership and $499 for a five-year plan.
Amazon says that its new membership will only be available for a few weeks after it launches, and Amazon will not offer a refund for Prime Plus memberships.
